Exploration is more productive when each trip has one reason behind it. Preparation should support discovery without turning the game into a rigid route.
1. Choose the main reason for the trip
Decide whether you are exploring for resources, upgrades, mapping or simply discovery.
2. Check travel resources before leaving
Make sure basic movement and survival needs are covered so the trip does not end because of one avoidable shortage.
3. Leave inventory space
A full inventory limits the value of new discoveries. Start with enough room to bring useful items back.
4. Return when the trip has produced a clear gain
Once you have the resource, upgrade or discovery you wanted, convert it into progression before wandering indefinitely.
